The chairman of the SEC, Christopher Cox, recently gave a speech at the meeting of XBRL-US, in which he reaffirmed the commitment of the SEC to the implementation of "interactive data" in the form of XBRL. He sees an early benefit being the streamlining of the reporting around mutual funds.
