U.S. tries to catch up as XBRL goes global - EDGAReview

The recent initiatives by Chairman Cox have been touted in North America as leading edge and innovative. The fact is, XBRL has already been adopted as the standard by a very large and growing number of exchanges, regulators and countries around the world. Mr Cox is simply trying to drag the US into the 21st century and catch up with the rest of the world. Canada is even further behind. But that will change.
