The AICPA has announced that XBRL-US will become a separate not-for-profit organization. XBRL-US started as a volunteer committee of the AICPA, and has since grown. A major new announcement by the SEC has launched XBRL firmly into the mainstream. The SEC is holding another forum on XBRL on Sept 29th at its Washington headquarters. This forum will focus on small public companies and the advantages to them of filing in XBRL format with the SEC from a capital formation viewpoint.
