SEC Speech: Remarks Before the ABA Section of Business Law Committee on Federal Regulation of Securities; Dallas, Texas: April 12, 2008

Today the Securities and Exchange Commission published a speech given on April 12th by Brian G. Cartwright, SEC General Counsel. Mr. Cartwright spoke about the advantages allowed to the financial services industry by recent improvements in technology, specifically touching on XBRL and the uses of interactive data. He also offered some explanation on the structure of XBRL and the creation of the new U.S. GAAP taxonomy. Mr. Cartwright concluded his remarks by noting the expanding use and acceptance of XBRL worldwide. (Quoted from XII)
